Ingredients

For the Patties

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend for optimal juiciness
  • 1/2 cup onions finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Toppings

  • 4 buns
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • lettuce leaves
  • tomato slices
  • red onion rings
  • pickle slices
  • ketchup
  • mustard
  • mayonnaise

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, finely chopped onions, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix gently until all ingredients are well incorporated.
  • Divide the mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty. Make a small indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing during cooking.
  • Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle to medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes per side or until desired doneness. Add cheese slices in the last minute of cooking.
  • Lightly toast the buns on the grill or in a toaster for added crunch and to avoid sogginess.
  • Spread mayonnaise on the bottom bun, place the cooked patty with cheese, and layer with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Top with the other bun half.
  • Serve immediately with your favorite sides like fries, coleslaw, or salad.
